Montenegro is a country opposite Italy across the sea. Montenegro has three dog-only shelters for the whole country, and the conditions of these shelters are torturous. There are no shelters for cats in the whole country. At all.
I’ve been helping some cats on the streets of Montenegro for two years. Unfortunately, no matter what I do, I cannot save them, because the life on Montenegrin streets is mortally dangerous for them. I lost many cats; some disappeared and some were killed by cars or intentionally poisoned. Thus, the only way to save them is to find them a loving home.
I’m looking everywhere, but it’s close to impossible to find such homes here in Montenegro due to disturbing tendencies to animal abuse and just overall indifference towards animals. Thus, I have to look for homes abroad too.
You can find information about each of the cats that are ready for adoption here:
The stories about all animals I see on Montenegrin streets are on the main page. Describing the life of these cats without mentioning the horrid conditions and treatment they face every day, would mean lying. So I have to warn you it might be not an easy reading.
The aim of this blog is to let people know that these cats exist. They are magical creatures ready to be perfect pets. And the more people know about it, the better chances these cats will have.
